I got out for a while today
Fishing was good but nothing extraordinary
Between the wind and the holes freezing it was busy enough

Made my 1st. trip to Simcoe. Cold & Windy. Came home w/ 13 over 9" between the bunch of us. Not many dinks caught either. Huts were warm and we had fun.

I was out on Saturday.  It was 23 below when I got to the lake.  Talk about cold.  I woulda never went but it was a local turnament that I love to fish.  I had the flu and all and I was out.  It was a slow day I managed 17 bluegill. (kept a few dinks cuz I was going for total tonage and I believe the lake is over populated so it stunts the growth so I figured I could take a few extras out.) I placed 3rd in 2 catagories which sucked cuz prizes only for first and second.  I had a tipup out all day and i didnt get any flags but I found out why when I went to pull it in.  The line on the spool froze and i had a dink northern on it that couldnt pull the line out.  o well I guess I shoulda put new bait on it more often and i woulda saw the problem

Yeah I was out on 7th lake in the Adirondacks the wind was a howlin'! It  had to be at least -20 deg F with the windchill.. I set up over 50 FOW on the south side of Goff Island its a great spot drops right off fast from rocky cliff shores... also acted like a wind funnel.. jigged up 4 or 5 short lakers then had to bail to the east shore of the island ( only 30 FOW )  but that protected us from the deep freezing wind.. ended up with 4 small rainbows and a couple tiny lakers.. we fished 9 hours and that was all we could handle.. it was brutal but beautiful out in the 'dacks.. a great day to go fishing :)
