This is a great day!
« on: Feb 21, 2006, 12:54 PM »
Well, many of you are also members of My Fish Finder and we all know this whole community is like a big family. Anyways, as some of you may or may not remember; this summer I posted a thread on MFF asking for prayers and support for a great friend and fishing and especially golfing buddy. He had cancer in his lymph nodes & liver among other places and as we know cancer is a bi*ch and it really didn't look too great :'(. There was an outpouring of support and prayers for him and it was much appreciated.
Well,  I just got word that doctors declared him cancer free this morning and they don't want to see him for 4 months.Waaahhoooo!   :woot:
I want to personally thank all of you who prayed or even gave my thread a second thought. It means alot.

Yup, this guy never smoked....but good point. It just drops my risk by a large percentage by continuing the non-smoking

Age isn't important.  Some of my better friends are older and most of the time wiser... ;D

Hey Pikeguy,  Even though we have never met, great to hear your friend is doing well. Hopefully some day cancer will be a thing of the past and nobody will have to go through that kind of hell.

Give him my best. My family had been affected with cancer on all levels. It's just great to hear positive stories about the "C" word when most stories you hear are negative.

It's got to be a great feeling.

You know what they say, Dying aint a good livin!

Enjoy every day!

I was in the same situation as you about 3yrs ago Pikeguy, my best friend developed cancer in his lymph nodes... for unknown reasons, never smoked, always healthy guy, exercised, etc... Had to go through chemo and came out okay in the end, although it didn't look good initially.  It's really a great feeling seeing a friend declared cancer free at the end of the sickness, especially after all the hell people that have this bad thing go through.  GREAT NEWS to hear your friend is OK now - that indeed is a GREAT day....  :)

Probably one of the best days of your life Pike guy!  One can never, ever, ever take friends like that for granted.  I have an "older " friend like that; he makes me crazy but wouldnt trade the old geezer for the world!

He's only in his fifties ;) Not a geezer...yet. (Thanks God there is a yet)
It's funny, his wife stopped into my office today and she had their Grandson...he's toddlin around the office unaware that he's a big reason his Grandpa is around...Bob said right away...I wanna live to see that little guy grow up. Having a good reason to fight made it easier from what I can tell.
