Yep, count me in the crowd that thought a filter was overkill... learned the lesson the hard way. My portable buddy (Dyna-Glo from cheapo depot) was run off a bulk tank for about 4 or 5 years and then the pilot hose clogged. I ended up reaming it with a piece of wire, and I guess the pilot hose is more delicate than I thought because the pilot flame got 3 times as big and now burns too much gas and actually seems to heat up less. Bought a new heater this year and just use the other one at home in the garage.

I've used the little buddy on a 20lb grill tank for the last 8 years with no filter ...no problems yet
How are the edges ?

well hell how much can the filter be???? seems worth it to me....as stated sooner or later ya gonna pay ..:)

Hope this helps any one who might be interested.  BTW I did not add a inline filter but, one could be added just by screwing it in place.
Thanks for the pics....i was thinking of making something similar for a heater i have.....my only question was should there be a propane regulator in the line ?
