went to comet today from 730 to 330. still solid 12" of ice.
set up over to the left in 11' to 22' of water.
TheJigger showed up soon afterwards. he set up in 4-6 feet of water.
about 830 i had a nice run but lost fish at hole and never got to see what it was.
about 200 another flag went up and about 5' of line was out. we waited and not much of anything happened. i checked line and it felt like it was in the weeds. so i gave it a nice tug and 'snap'!! 10lb micro ice line snapped like it was cut with a knife. no idea what could off been on the end.
put another shiner on 2' under ice and 20 minutes later the flag is back up. line is going out steady then starts to peel off line.
i set the hook and proceed to haul in ...
a bass!! since when do bass cruise underneath the ice in 13' of water???
about an hour earlier a guy near us "Al Canal' (don't ask me how he got that name) caught a nice Tiger trout
as usual as slow day, but no skunk, good fishin company.
