It's to bad we got this snow. The cold days and nights we've had would have firmed up the ice for the weekend. Be. Safe and don't go out alone.

mark - my early guess is that you are going to be fine.... I most likely won't be able to get down there and check though... good luck!

I take the train from the Westborough MBTA station every morning.  A-1 is right behind the station.  This morning it was 17degrees, yesterday morning it was 9 degrees, tuesday morning it was 9 degrees.

It is still cold overnight.

A guy I work with drives down mill rd. to and from work, he told me behind the island looks open water, kind of hard to believe. I am going to take a cruise by tonight to see for myself..

maybe just water on top of the ice?  I can't believe with the frigid nights we've had even with the warm-up during the day that there could be open water there just yet.  Maybe another week or two if the temps don't drop down at night but not yet.

I fished there two weeks ago did see opened water close to the island, but the ice I fished from (about 60-80 yards from water) was about 11 inches thick... haven't been there this couple of days though.
Be safe and good luck! :icefish:

Plenty of ice if your fishing near the NH border. Takes alot of warn to melt it off, two good weeks left to fish. Dont rush the seasons, enjoy what is here now, ice fishing!

A-1 should be fine for the weekend, I fished it last Saturday with 7 inches of good ice. There were no drain holes anywhere, and solid right up to the ramp. There is open water all around the island, and the ice did thin out a little about 30 yds from the open water. If I can talk my daughter into going I'll be there myself.
