Title: lindy grub getter or strikemaster puck
Post by: VT snotrocket on Mar 06, 2009, 06:45 PM
Just wondering if any of you use the Lindy grub getter or strikemaster puck. Just looking for a few opinions pros or cons. I will be using one of these for spikes. Thank you.

Grub getter. Got two. One for waxies and one for something else like spikes. Wouldn't trade them for anything.

Thank you for the information guys. Do the strikemaster pucks open like a skoal can or are they threaded?

They are threaded.  I own four of them and hightly recommend them.  They are insulated, so they prevent quick temp changes.

I have used a simple $1.00 first aid kit i got at wally. Took the contents out and use it for waxies. Fits pockets good and has lasted all season.

empty chew tin works great and I get em for free from a buddy at work that chews. Hold more than enough spikes for a days worth of fishing and small enough to fit in a pocket.

I love the Bait pucks, the insulation keeps them from getting too warm in your pocket, or too cold if you forget them on the ice for a few minutes. The screw off top is super easy to open up, but never comes open in your pocket. I think they are even made in USA. I could be wrong since I don't have one in front of me at the moment.

I like both. grub getter for spikes and the puck for waxies ,Big puck for a hand full minnows works good too.

I use all three myself and each has there place.       If you you want one or the other, I would go with the puck though.

The puck's are it! I only take enough spike's as needed. I store my spike's in double zip lock bags with all the air removed in the refridgerator.

I use the pucks. I want to buy more of them this year. On a side note, where does everyone buy thier bulk spikes and waxies from? I think a good chunk of people used JaDa bait last year??

I have purchased leeches in bulk from Vados Baits and have been very satisfied.  Haven't purchased any ice fishing bait from them.

I use the big bait puck for waxies and a grub getter for spikes. I like i can shake the grub getter and not have to dig though the saw dust to find spikes.  I like them both a lot.

Use both!  Love the pucks for warmer weather. Fit in pocket well and insulated.  On colder days I like that I can throw a hand warmer in the Lindy Grub Getter and they come alive like you wouldn't believe.

I have the Strikemaster Bait Pucks and love them.  Never used the Grub Getter.

I have used both and the grub getter sits at home now.  The lid never wants to close and you end up with bait crawling around everywhere.  Only use the bait pucks now.

I'm a cheap SOB at times. I use empty Ice Breaker mint containers. They are flat, they stay closed, have a large opening to fill and a small one to dispense. Best of all I get them FREE from my daughter. They come in different colors to ID each bait.
