just leave a window or  a door flap open for ventilation.

I would be very careful carbon monoxide is nothing to mess with.  I would think you would be OK with a vent open but I would not risk it.  I bought a little heater at wal-mart for $20.  It still give off CO but not near as much and you do not have to worry about the flame.  Just my thoughts.

I am pretty sure yes.  The way that the heat is being generated and disbursed makes me think it would be, but I make be wrong.

The flame is what worries me the most, i use my mr buddy heater and i also have a 1 burner butane stove that use to cook on inside the shanty, but only use it for the cooking not heating.

A battery powered carbon monoxide detector would let you know real quick if the flap is open enough.

I have been using propane for heat in all my shacks for years now that's all everyone uses around here!!! Haven't had any problems yet knock on wood!!
i'm in and out of my shacks enough with tip-ups and other things so it gets good ventilation..

Last time i had a shack out i used a tow-mantle propane lantern, didnt throw as much heat as a stove but still kept it decently warm.
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

I use a coleman 2 burner to heat and cook in my shappel3000 shanties. I also am a heating contractor very familiar with co. As stated leave a door or window cracked for fresh air, Do not pack snow around bottom of shanty to block drafts as it blocks air for combustion, and most importantly if you feel drowsey or sleepy open your shanty up and get out and get fresh air. I have thought about overnite trips in mine and do not trust it as I have made co by keeping the zippers fully closed and packing snow around when really cold. It can be difficult to tell if drowsey due to the 12 pak or co. when in doubt air it out ;)2

I had a close call in my home years back, so I will Air out my shanty every 2 hours or so..... i'll do a full flip.... let it air for 5 seconds or so to let all new air in, then re-flip....it only takes 30 seconds to reheat so its worth the effort.

by the way the mr.heater lineup all have a low O2 shutoff, all the mr buddy's will shutdown if 1 the pilot goes out, 2 if the tip-over switch is tripped, and 3 if the CO creates a low O2 situation, if your burning a mr buddy and a camp stove i wouldnt leave the vents closed but the mr buddy will shutoff if the camp stove is producing too much CO (O2 below 19.5%)
