Need a distraction until there is good ice......

No ice here yet in N PA.  lookin promising tho.    Need somethin to keep me distracted until i get on some hard water....    anyone do any good hunting this year? post pics

I did pretty good on pheasants and ducks. I went elk hunting back in Oct. I missed a big 5x5 bull

First you get all your ice fishing stuff together on your sled.  Then you clean it and put it back on your sled.  Then you rearrange your sled.  Put new line on your reels.  Throw in a couple of trips to the tackle shop for jigs and if you go real slow, you have taken up most of a morning.  Probably be better if you can be put into a cryogenic sleep until good ice, then you can fish and you're already acclimated to the cold.

I agree that beer helps this process.
I am going nuts! Arranging, changing hooks, buying new sh!t, then re-arranging.
Unfortunately there's no therapy that works...

Just go buy a couple ice lures every few days.  Funny, its like trying to quit smoking but I have to go buy a pack each day anyway LOL.  At least my tackle box is growing.

I go to Mansfield... decent fishing, excellent hunting, and a better than usual crop of "distractions" this year.... unfotunately im tied down, which means less fishing and hunting time.... but i figure im gonna piss her off sooner or later either way... might as well be fishing or hunting while im doing it

If there's no ice, I'm in my boat.  We were out in 8deg last year - had to keep dipping our poles in the water to get the ice off the ferrules!

havent checked cowanesque... but hills and hammond had a skim today... and tioga had ice on backwaters and coves.... its been relatively warm here until this past week... havent even had snow that lasted more than a day... but with this weather it should be good to go by the time i come back from winter break for sure
