reelinrolly--i'll give you one more of my secrets-use large smelts and on a lindy type set up using a bell sinker,place on the bottom and tail hook your smelt so it floats head up--drives northerns crazy--they'll take one long run with the bait-you must be patient when they stop as they are swallowing head first and now is when they start their second run-wait 10 or more seconds then do your hook set--
