Safe ice
« on: Jan 15, 2016, 09:08 AM »
This weekends temps are dropping back down in the low teens, has anyone been near in reservoirs in the past few days to see what the warm days did? All of the waterfowl reports are saying %90 or more ice cover im itching to get the ice gear out but still have yet to hear a credible ice report.

The Yo-Yo temps have put a fair amount of ice in the NE part of the state but it is all thin and rotten. This weekend and first part of the week will no doubt do the same thing with possibly a time to fish some areas late next week I'm hoping. For now I have been hitting some docks and catching a few crappie and managed one small yellow perch. That is the second one I have ever caught in KS. Good luck and stay on top of the ice if you do try it.
