I was wondering how long everyone stays out on the ice on a normal day of fishing ? I arrive in the dark and leave in the dark but that's just me. After all I'm an outdoors nut. ;D

The longest I've ice fished was 14 hours in a portable
shanty.On average days 6 to 8 hours,4 to 5 days
a week.Lucky me.

It all depends on the lake I'm fishing and the species of fish I'm after. Some lakes the perch don't hit good till around 10:00 AM so their is no reason to get their to early. And I take a lot of time off to fish and hunt sometime 3 to 4 wks at a time. I only average 6 or 7 mnts work the rest I'm fishing or hunting all the time.

Usually dawn to dusk. :'(

1/2 HOUR OR SO BEFORE SUNRISE AND USUALLY TILL DARK. :'( :'(

I go out to my shack friday night and stay until Sunday night. Before I was married I did masonary work so I'd stay out all winter. I 'd go home to get my unemployment check and that a shower and that was it.

It varies for me. Once this year I was only able to fish 2 hours. Other times I stay out 8 to 12 hours. All depends if I have things to do. During the week I try to get out for 4-5 hours at a time.

If I am fishing locally it is usually only 3 or 4 hours depending upon what I am fishing for. I usually only go out for one species of fish each time so that I don't have to drag all my tackle along for everything.
If I am heading out to Winnie or LOW I will be on the ice from 4am till dark then head home.
