Hey Drifter
« on: Nov 16, 2010, 03:48 AM »
Saw your additon to my hooligan question on the AK board.

Now a question for you.

Do you have sculpin in the NWT?

We have a couple varieties here in the Rockies, they make great additions to a jig presentation. Lighter colored ones seem to get more strikes than the dark ones, no matter what jig that I fish them on.

Also, did you see the pig that Bottom Dweller pulled out of a local spot this summer? 44lbs 12 oz. it is on the openwater sight under Wyoming.

Clear Ice and Tight lines,

Ouzel

Don't know if we have sculpin here or not.
The ciscoes are easiest to get as they run up river to spawn in the fall and you can dip 'em just like hooligan.   ;)2

Can't say I saw bottom dwellers fish, but did it look similar to this only darker in colour?     ;D

Good on you, that's a dandy also, in the same weight range too I am guessing?
Colors very similar, light. Don't know the length of BD's, but I am guessing your is longer, his looks to have more girth.

That a Great Slave fish form this summer or ?

I'll see if I can find the link to it.

It's a Great Bear fish from several summers ago.
I'm looking for one like it through the ice.   ;D

No most CO's are good people and wealth's of information. It was actually an enjoyable experience getting checked over by her.
Sorry about that but the slimy sculpin made me think of that day.....Sun beating down, and reflecting off the snow. And this sweet voice says "Can I see your licence?". Then "Is that your rod". (the 42 inch beauty that you made me) I held back my comment and was a gentleman.  ;)

Or maybe it made me think of that day because I put a 3 inch dead slimy sculpin (that was in with the peamouth in the bait bag) and tried jigging it. That was when she checked me over.

Dave, just watched the video of the trip w/ TGF, Fantastic.  did you put that video together yourself?

I see we share the same sled, only I broke down and put some Simmons gen II skis on, makes for so much better floatation in deep powder or bad slush.

Yep, I had it put together before Terry got home.   ;D

It's a nice sled, rides like a Caddy.
I made it all the way to Utsingi Island pulling two toboggans on one tank of gas.
