Depending on the spot you are almost directly walking on tha channel, haven't seen many reports from that side but guys "were" out before the rain. I'd be a little weary...rain, early ice, and a current aren't a good mix

Wow...of all the people out there yesterday not one post?
That pretty much sums up the fishing  :-\
All day and caught three short eyes(very short) and one perch.
Fished north of islands 4.5" 12 fow, moved to park late in day, same for ice, 20 fow.
Not a good day, res is living up to its reputation!

Yeah they've been tight lipped, been there twice this year marked fish from the time I started and quit both times! Getting them to hit is a mystery to me at this point I've tried a bunch of different jigs, techniques etc. I can drop to bottom and watch them follow it right up on my marcum then they just stare at it and eventually move off...only to repeat the pattern 30 seconds later. Then occasionally one will hit...been tough

i post under reports and conditions, i'd check there if you want input.  Rarely do I check this portion.  The walleye will be off the hook in 5-10 years.  Caught 5 today but 30 plus a week ago, all shorts.

I had a ton of lookers. Would follow the bait if I raised it then would go back down. Think I found out what they were. Twice when I brought up the line I had a 2" baby crappie (?) on it. Never even felt a tug.  :( :(

We  had similar luck North of the Islands. A lot of lookers following the jig. Between the group of three of us we managed to catch 15 gills and a couple short crappies.

Lake ice off the park was 9 or so inches. They require 12" for derby to happen. This week's forecast isn't very promising. I really doubt they are going to have the ice they need to have it.  >:(  >:(
