Was on the lake today. Good ice every where from 7-9 in. Fished manly east shore from pond north. Fished in 10-13 fow. Had camera, saw a lot of fish but only one wanted to bite, perch. Had wheeler so no issues getting around but very little snow on ice and very slippery, where spikes if walking. Good luck this weekend.

There is a nice bait shop in Chenango Forks (WAYNER'S).  It is about 4 or 5 houses from the tracks on rt79.  Phone is 607-204-0428.  Good selection and prices.

Unfortunately, Donny David (Top Line Bait) closed. I'd suggest to buy bait before you come into town, as to not waste a dime/time at "Preppers".

Didn't have mousies when I went there last weekend. My buddy also said he was out of minnows on Sunday, lol.  ???  ??? ???
WP Prepper (Steve) and his bait shop is your best deal in town. He will hook you up with so many minnows it'll outlast your receipt date....He is a good man that I highly suggest seeing...I got my moussies, grubs And waxies from....fat heads, medium shiners and xlarge shiners.  Just a new shop and he is open to suggestions on what people want, and he usually gets it.  But if you don't go, more for me...Al already got 6 minnows, he's good for the season ;D

BTW, fished all day, wind really picked up mid morning. Slow bite, but same results..  Quality sized fish, just not great quantity. 13 total minus the shorts and bullhead.  Perch are officially being named jumbos this year and the crappies are slabs. Not one needing the measuring stick so far....still only have pics on phone and don't now how to post them....where's Sporty when I need him..only one eye today....will hit it again tomorrow...I think I'll be trolling looking for a new spot...honey hole is getting crowded. Can't believe how good ice is...9" of clear...water is clearest it's been all year as well, could see bait 5' down...and Al could see the ones I was pulling up as well  ;). Mini Slam slept in, missed my little partner, but he's in for tomorrow...big Al, I got some of moms homemade chili to bring...follow the smell boys and come over...good luck everyone, tight lines.

How do you guys expect the ice to hold up through this week? The temps plus rain are not looking good...I've only been out one time this year but have some time off the following week and didn't want to have to go north. That's my luck!

Was out in the afternoon today. Ice is holding up nice by the way.....a solid and clear 9 inches. We ran into smallmouth, walleye, and a nice size bluegill. Used wax worms on a small jig as well as fatheads on the tip ups. Fished 18 feet of water in the channel. Will be out again tomorrow with the Wife and some more friends.

Its my biggest one, ice or open water. When I was pulling it up and getting close to the hole we both thought it was a crappie.

3 of us fished the channel across from the park.  11 am till dark.  4 smallmouths and one small walleye.  Very slow day. 7 - 9 inches of ice but it is melting.

Slow day :( But still another fun one with little slam and big Al. Only managed 4 slabs on beautiful day. Everyone seemed to be packing it in early. Looks like the early ice bite is over. Hope she holds up over the next few days. Ice looked great though, should be fine. After Wednesday its back to cold.

Fished the channel on Saturday from about 7am to noon. Didn't catch many but the handful of gills and crappie we did land were SLABS.

Marking a good amount of fish every time I've been out but they seem pretty lock jawed.

yeah, marked alot, but had to work hard to make them bite.  Need to get the aqua view out there to see if the lookers are gills.
