Well, didnt have a chance to get to the new spot I wanted to hit, so I set up base local..I managed to lay the hooks into a few perch ,walleye and a first for me, 2 mudpuppy or dogfish whatever you call em'...they were pretty neat looking.Man it was cold tonight, scooping holes got to be a pain in the arse.Damn things froze up every 10 minutes....Mr.Buddy... .....you are my Buddy! :P Asides from the cold temps I had a great night...Here are a few pictures..

The perch hole coughed a few beauts tonight...I had to keep moving deeper and deeper to stick with the active schools.I tried a few new baits such as chubby darters and red demons from Custom jigs and spins to try and bring in some of the bigger perch...It payed off :D Limited out in a few hours and packed it in for the night..Wind was howling out there :x I had to drill 7 holes around the shack for slush to keep the wind from turning it into a weather balloon  Great night in all!

Same with my old man...it's tough on his back, and he really doesn't want to go out and jig for bluegills, crappies or perch...he said that if he goes out, he wants to know that he might be catching something BIG.  ;)  I don't blame him, as I always want to catch something big (don't we all?) but I like jiggin the pannies just the same.

Oh yeah, nice fish man!  :)

Geezz he thought I was a nut(Guess I am :P) when I put in over 500$ worth of jigs, ultralight reels and so on, into this years needs ;D this past Decemeber..

With him he will sit over a hole all day with a 4'' Willams Wobbler tipped with a 7'' frozen sucker jiggin for a big laker or northern....usally pays off too....Thats his way of ice fishing, myslef on the other hand like to move around......A lot ;)

The ol' perch hole was a bit slower tonight, I landed 12 keepers (3 over 10inches).I tried working a bit shallower, but they turned off around 4 :x Looking forward to getting into some walleye tomorrow night.I have been scouting out a few new locations the past few days :D

Hey Tip-uptwo,

Have been monitoring stuff up there and several of the back bays and larger points have up to 10" of good ice.  I know this little warm snap is probably honeycombing some of it, but hopefully cold over the weekend and into early next week will stiffen' 'er back up.  They have been fishing Big Bay, Hay Bay, Herkimer, and Point Anne on good ice.

tip-uptwo, how do you like your Clam 2000? I just bought one about a month ago and I love it. I have had one problem though, one of the velcro pockets thats holds the roof poles has ripped already. I duct-taped it back together and it seems to be holding. The other three pockets are fine so far. I'm a poor college student, so I can't afford anything bigger, but its the perfect house for ice fishing on a budget.

The weekends coldfront made it difficult to get out for a fish :-\ Not only did temps drop dramasticly , the 65 km/h winds made it impossible to fish in the portable without ice anchors >:(...With that being said, the bite was tough the past few nights..Monday I went to the perch  hole landing only 12 perch ::) if I did not have the spring strike indicator I would have been skunked :) Oh yea, broke a rod tip to top the night

Tonight I fished a new spot, a small bay along the Ottawa and I had it all to myself ;D No big fish, but the bite was somewhat steady.I iced 8 walleye ranging from 11'' - 21''...Hot lure tonight was the perch pattern jigging rap tipped with a waxworm...
