2013-14 Ice Fishing Goals
« on: Nov 21, 2013, 01:07 PM »
I set a few goals for the upcoming season. Wondered if any of you had any of the same.

1. Catch a Tiger Trout

2. Catch a Walleye from Curlew

3. Actually make it to Iron Creek Lake and fish it

4. Average 2 days of ice fishing per week through March 30th

1 New ice suit. Striker or Artic Armor

2 gallons jars of pickled pike this year. Last year one gallon didn't last long enough.

3 new lakes ive never ice fished

4 trips targeting the night bite. i.e. at least 3pm to 12pm

then from there, 3 trips targeting bluegill, 1 targeting crappie, these two species don't occupy SD waters very much

Fish Goals   1 walleye over 6lbs, and one pike over 10lbs
Jesus was said to have walked on water, I feel comfort in knowing he was an avid ice fisherman like me.

From Sioux City Iowa.  Been Ice Fishing for 3 years now.  Goal is to get up to Webster area and finally ice a Pike and Walleye through the ice.

Not many places near here that have eyes and pike.  Bass, Bluegill and Crappie only here.

jbuss I think the walleye in Curlew are like big foot. a lot of people say the are there but no one seems to catch them.
Keep your stick on the ice we are all in this together.

Man, I don't know if I set my goals too high or I just suck at this game. #4 is the only one I can cross off. Even if I don't fish any more after this week I still average 2.4 days per week. How did everyone else do with their pre-season goals?

My goal is to catch a big fish. Still trying. Might still have a few days left of iron creek if you still want to try it. Let me know if you are going and I ll head up. The creek that feeds that lake gets to running over the top of the ice and it wrecks the fishing pretty early.
