... and I thought there where no fish here....
« on: Dec 28, 2007, 05:10 PM »
12-28-07

Had a few hours free and decided to get out onto Lake P for some gills.  Dragged gill equipment about a mile to "the spot" that I found in the summer between two decent weed beds in 10 FOW.  Dropped the camera down and there I sat.  Where are they?  Not a tick on the x67c, not a gill on the camera.  Jig.... Jig.... Jig...  Swap teardrops, Jig Jig Jig.

Nothing.

Not a single gill, perch, or YOY perch.  Nothing.

So I spin the camera and see these guys hanging out behind the camera, just watching. (Notice the smallie in the background.)

I ended up moving and the same pike followed the camera.  And sat there.

And I didn't feel like trying to get him on a teardrop and 1 lb test on a UL rod.

*ARGH*

Cool Pics. I've been threatening to get a camera or an expensivexilar for a while and have wondered if it would tick me off to know there were fish down there that wouldn't bite and maybe am I better off smiling like a fool in the sunshine in ignorant bliss while large larson snubbed my best rigging.  On the other hand, seeing them on TV eyeing your junk beats seeing nothing, at least you are in the right spot and you can see if swapping terminal is doing the trick, but then there is the frustration. Good insight, thanks for posting. I see it like elk hunting: you don't find them if you aren't where elk hang out, and you have to spend alot of time in places where they hang out before they show up, and most of the time when they show up they are too wise to let you get close enough to paste the cross hairs.  But at least you are seeing them,  :) which is why we go, right? And then there is the time when you outsmart them, and I got nothing worthy to say about that.

Cabela's 5.5" Advanced Anglers Underwater Camera and I didn't have my camcorder hooked up so I ended up snapping a photo of the TV screen with my digital still camera.

is the 5.5 inch screen sufficient  ???

with the recent influx of cabelas cards, i'm divided between this one or the 7 inch

I like the smaller size screen because it fits better to the way I setup in my little Clam2000.  Easy to see because I'm not too far away from it and the smaller size burns battery longer than a larger screen would.

Go to (Insert Favorite Sporting Goods Store Here) and look at the two different sizes next to each other.  The difference in screen size is actually about an inch or less all the way around.  That's what I did and ended up buying the 5.5" for 60 bucks less.....  which was then spent on tackle.  :)
