wrong blades when new?
« on: Jan 27, 2014, 01:25 PM »
I just ordered new 7" blades for my mora auger. I ordered 7" because the box says its a 7 inch auger. Today i got to looking at the original blades. They are stamped with 8" - 200 millimeter.

So what the heck?? I notice the original blades protrude out quite a bit. So its an 8 inch?? Wrong box?  How do I know?

I contacted StrikeMaster. They said either 7 inch or 8 inch blades will fit. An 8 inch auger is simply a 7 inch with 8 inch blades.

I have both 7 and 8 inch Mora. What did your old blades say 7 inch or 8 inch. My 7 in. auger the blades say 7 inches the 8 in. auger they say 8 inches ,stamped right on the blades.

It will be fine, my 8 inch blades on my hand auger stick out to the side a bit. As much as I use it its not a big deal.

I agree with Old Goat and everyone else. Hey as long as it cuts through the ice you'll be alright. Beats the hell outta drilling with a hand auger am I right!?

Strikemaster says they'll work so let her rip.  Besides it will crank easier.
