Title: Last Mountain Lake 2022 - 2023
Post by: infecticide on Nov 11, 2022, 07:21 PM
Just noticed on the satellite that the north end of LML appears to have snow on it!   Shouldn't be long now.

Facebook is saying 6inches in front of Regina beach on the ice conditions Sask Group. I went to  Dellwood reservoir this afternoon 9 to ten inches there but it is not a very large lake  I was surprised there was that much ice but there is also very little snow on top.

Nice, thanks for the info!

maybe I'll head down Sunday then. I imagine at very least I can fish by Hendersons Beach, if there's already 2" at Sorenson.

Went near Sarnia today. 6" of ice everywhere I checked, lots of it clear as glass. There are sections where the wind made sections with tons of creaky cracks.

Slow day, got skunked. Had one nice pike on, could see him through the ice which was sweet! He cut through my walleye test before I got him though.

Exactly!

I'm gonna give it a try again tomorrow or Sunday, might setup the shack and stay on the ice.

Does big arm bay have fish in it, or is it too shallow? Was gonna try out of hendersons but might get lazy dragging my stuff from the launch to the main lake haha

30 inches at the tail; but couldn't get her to straighten out so we're thinking close to 31-32 Unfortunately we didn't have a weigh scale with us. She was released so good luck to the next person whose able to snag her!

Never fished LML. Was hoping someone could tell me where the closures start on Lewis Creek and Big Arm Bay? Is it closed due to poor ice condition or spawning area?

I am heading out that way for the first time at the end of March.

Thanks.
Title: Re: Last Mountain Lake 2022 - 2023
Post by: speckspotter on Feb 21, 2023, 08:53 AM
The closure runs March 1st to May 14th for both locations. Protecting the spawning fish is the reason.

I was curious where the closure starts. Is there markers/signs somewhere?

Just want to make sure when I am there I don’t enter the restricted area.

Thanks.

Not sure about Lewis creek but there was a guy saying he tried to get out at Etters. They had 2 trucks together to pull each other and they made it 300 yards and that was it.

Can’t say for sure but based on that I highly doubt Lewis is ok unless someone plowed a trail
