Lake Iroquois Access

Is there any access closer to the south end or am I up for a hike from the state launch? Buddy and I want to try fishing somewhere new and all the good terrain looks like it's in the south end. I assume pickerel can still be found in the weedy shallows this time of year? Can't say I've ever targeted pickerel

I believe the only access is from the north side from the state launch. The pickerel are still in the weeds. But they can be found slightly deeper on the weed lines
