My cousin pulled his shack out last week with his 1 ton diesel. He said 15 inches of ice and not much snow. No problems getting around

You bet.  There is also a good chance you'll catch pike, whitefish and maybe if your real lucky burbot.

30 plus years ago there was a shack village just out a little ways from where the store was at Pelican Cove. I was out a few times over the Xmas holidays and there were no shacks in this area. I'm assuming the Whites aren't as abundant or the old generation of Whitefish fishermen has passed. I plan to try for the Whites next time out there. When fnsdeuse you say shallows, how many feet are you referring to? Anyone else been fishing Iroqouis for the Whites?

Put something out as an attractant...like a rippin' rap and jig it aggressively to call them in.  They usually cruise through mid water column.  Then we used wireworms and a maggot or two.  Don't set the hook too hard or you'll pull the hook out as they have soft mouths.

You can definitely drive on Iroquois, ice has to be almost 24" by now. We were driving on a few weeks ago and it was plenty thick then.

I was on Big Shell last weekend and there is a fair amount of snow.  We walked out from shore.  If Iroquois has as much snow as Big Shell you will need a sled or a 4x4 with really good tires.
