Upper Chateauguay access
« on: Nov 11, 2018, 02:53 PM »
Fished Upper Chateauguay for the first time last winter, accessed by foot from Youngs road. Wondering if there are any access points closer to deeper water towards the Southern part of lake. Preferably park on shore and venture out on foot. Thanks.

Phil

Unfortunely no. Need to get permission and most of the places toward the south end are summer camps

Phil, I posted the same question last year and got the same answer. Fished it a few times without luck.

Do you live up there? I travel to plattsburgh for work and often pack my jetsled for a quick outing here and there when I'm on the road. Let me know maybe well hook up sometime.

I actually live in Montreal. Fished upper Chat once last winter, caught some jumbo perch and lost something a bit bigger fishing deep. Was hoping to target lakers in the deeper part of the lake this year. I catch lots of 4 to 7 lb lakers while jigging for perch up here, but laker season is closed during winter in Quebec, and was looking to target some bigger ones this winter. Don't mind the drive down to NY every once in a while. Will keep you in mind when I plan my next outing down there and let you know in advance if I can.
