I'll probably do a last run this weekend regardless. It's supposed to be a full moon on Saturday which is typically for subpar fishing. It's always nice to get out on the ice & drill some holes. Be safe everyone. We need the peanut gallery to be in full force for next year, myself included.
Time to get the fly rod back out...
I fished a bay in North Hero today and notice that the ice is going fast from below. We lost a few inches from yesterday to today but the top is holding up well. The shore is starting to get go away and we needed a plank to get on. I'll take a look tomorrow then decide if it is time to clean the ice suit and buckets.Edit: Saturday morning. I checked out the bay and nobody out. Shore is bad and I came home without even going down to the shore. No way at my age I am going out alone so I am washing the striker suit and putting all the gear away. It was a fun season. I got out 77 days this ice season and now bring on the open water.
77 is impressive! I got in 34 including 15 overnights in my hardside. I got on 10 different bodies of water! All in all a successful year on the ice!
