My girlfriend and I spent our "honey moon" ice fishing hopping from one NEK lake to another and stayed near each one. The Willowvale is very nice and the dinner was delicious. While at Magog we stayed in a motel between Newport and Derby (forgot the name) and when we went to Island Pond we stayed in a nice old bed and breakfast, no dinner but we ate in the village diner and it was good. The next day we stayed at a motel on the water there, nothing spectacular, and just drove out of their parking lot onto the water.
If you're looking for smelt and trout, then Magog is the place; there's an access on the east side at the northern end. Don't drive to the south too soon, it's soft in those weeds.
Lots of pike in Norton and there's a motel in Canaan.
For brown trout, try Peacham. Maybe you can find a B&B nearby in Peacham.
It's good fishing at Joe's Pond, too, give that a try. Good luck!
