Southern Champlain.

Hey everyone,

I'll be hitting up Southern Champlain (below benson landing) this weekend and was wondering what the ice situation is like down there? I just need to know if it's safe to walk across NY to VT.

Much obliged!

Was down on benson landing two weekends ago. The ice was about 12 inches. Definetly cut easy mostly white ice but was plenty to walk on. I went over to the train tracks and set tip ups back to the landing. Good luck hope you have more action than we did !!

Just left the lake. We had 8-10" in front of our camp.  2-3" of hard packed snow on top. Snowmobiled from Benson landing across to Putnam station and all over the lake. South bay was open around the bridge. Next week's weather looks miserable. Enjoy it while you can!!!
