Granby ice
« on: Jan 31, 2018, 10:08 PM »
I know they just had the tournament,  and I've searched the forums.
But i have not found the info I'm looking for.
With the lake freezing later than usual,  how is the ice? What about the 2 spots that froze very late?
Not been up yet this season and wondering if there are any areas to stay away from.
Looking to go up soon, have 2 snowmobiles and an atv to haul the family around.
Any info is much appreciated,  better safe then sorry.

It was 8-10" everywhere I went off Sunset Point and Stillwater, but I also heard of 4" of ice in a report from Fish Explorer right off of Sunset Point but don't know where he was talking about.

Thank you.
Were you on a machine?
Anyone else have info on other parts of lake?

Atv went thru last week during tourney! At pumphouse! Even I know better than to trust ice over there! I've heard machines everywhere else for what that's worth

It shouldn't , just don't go by the pump house. Ice is usually always sketch over there, early on.

I was there Tuesday.  About 8” of ice with lots of slush on top.  I didn’t bring my snowmobile since I wasn’t sure about the ice.  Fishing was good though despite lots of wind.

Were there machines running around on the lake?

Yes people had snowmobiles out.  Lots of old tracks too.  But it would suck to get stuck in the slush.  I was near dike 3

We wanted to go to Dike 3 but didn't want to cross the pressure ridge people were talking about

Was wondering if anyone has an update on Granby ice condition from this weekend? The report I find are few days (~ 1 week) old.
