Hey, you just never know what crazy engineering type might submit an upgrade alternative to the flower pot.

I used  do tandems for trolling. I'm not a fan of trolling so I don't have a need any more.

Pop on over to MyFishfinder and check in on the "Hey Fly Tiers" thread there. The guys are starting to thaw out and I know there's some who tie for trolling.

I dug up an old picture of some I used to tie for trolling the Finger Lakes.

I think the picture is from around '03 or so.

Yeah,  kinda like that RG.

Chilly - I was looking for some ideas on flies that I could run behind flashers and dodgers for some lake trout or just flat lining for some salmon.

I don't tie at all right now but was thinking about purchasing the tools and material to start experimenting.  I do  lot of brook fishing too, maybe learn the fly rod in the meantime.

With all this worm weather and :cookoo: winds, might as well put some time in at the vise.  Although I did make it out on the ice for some nice perch.  Not sure if it was the fly making off with the perch eye or the eye itself.  Sorry no pictures, the computer/pictures are seems like at war  :%$#!:

Just got done tying up some march brown nymphs.   10's 14's and 18's.  If I don't lose them this ice season, I'll have them for trout.  Geo.

With all this worm weather...

You mean like this pic from my patio 12/13 a year ago Bud?  ;D

Thanks for the Purple Taco direct chilly. They've got some stuff I haven't been able to find in years plus a lot more. My imagination is getting away from me...

Haven't been at the bench to much lately. Spending most of my time in the wood shop. I need to sort out my fly boxes pretty soon and get tying for the spring.

I am overrun with thread.  All types.  I think I have to steal an idea from the Mrs.  She has a spice rack that is teared.  So, maybe I have to follow Rgfix and go to my wood shop and let the creation happen.  haha. Geo.

Bringing this thread back as it’s prob the more extensive tying thread on IS. I made a couple small leech patterns I though might work through the ice. I tied them with squirrel instead of rabbit strips, and uses estaz as an underbody to give a bit of flash. Also I used tungsten bead/cone heads.

Another, this one is in place of a standard bucktail jig for lake trout. On a 3/8oz tungesten jighead, a chinchilla and white rabbit strip for tail and then wrapped togther up the shank. Thinking about adding eyes to the jighead. If I do another one, I’ll add a glass rattle chamber to it.
