Having a great trout ice-fishing season here in western Maine.

Can anyone recommend hook-types that prevent swallowing?

I use quick strike rigs (were legal) (double rider hooks) and most of the time I  hook every fish that I feel when I picked up the line. I loose very few shiners and catch fish that I never would have with a single hook. The hooks do not deter the action of the shiner or the fish eating the shiner. I don't mangle fish and I release almost every fish alive... I have even caught the same fish twice on the same day using Quick Strike Rigs, (must not have hurt them too much)... Quick Strike Rigs were developed for C&R. There are Pike in Europe that have been catch over 40 time (most of those times with Quick Strike Rigs) that not only lived but get bigger. Keep in mind that if you are going to take all day to get to a flag, then that kind of defeats the purpose of a Quike Strike Rig... Here are some pics;
