Is ice up by hearthstone yet? If not how is MDB frozen far enough to try for lakers? I’ll be up for the day Friday. Looking for lakers and perch.

I think the rd is Huddle Bay. Get there early, parking is limited. Im wondering how much ice on Harris Bay. Plan on going up early Saturday. Hope it’s got enough ice now .

Lots of LG parking is like that.  Get there early or miss out which usually has me leaving the house around 1 or 2am.

Morning everyone, great info.  Figured I would try to contribute something to this thread since I have been on here for a while.  This guy Roger lives in Brant Lake and fishes LG a lot.  He has a YouTube channel with a lot of good info and some fun stuff to watch.  Figured I would share another source of good info and give everyone something to watch for this weekend if the weather is too severe to go out.  Good luck and stay safe guys.

That's OK I just thought you had a really bad day out there but I know for sure there's fish in that lake    I fished for 3 hours and only picked up 3 trout which is pretty slow for first ice but it was great to be out.

I saw the text and laughed.  The reason I didnt stop is the otter is about 125 loaded so the drag on pavement needs momentum.

Good perch cleaning video, limits are pretty easy on the King so the technique will come in handy. Thanks for sharing.

It was wide open as of yesterday afternoon from Bolton quite a ways south...…   down most of the way to Long Island I believe.
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.

For as cold as its supposed to be the snow should be light and blown off easily with some wind.  It will only help the open water.

That’s awesome! Thanks for the report! Between snow falling on the open water and the cold after should build some great ice next week.

Lake is wide open from middle of northwest bay to long island.  Bays are frozen but it was very windy today.  Lots of gaps and cracks.

Here's another good site for trends; a little too scientific looking for most, but fun to play with.  www.climatereanalyzer. org  out of the U of Maine.  Settings: Hourly Forecast/Global 10 day/North America/2m Temperature anomaly

Looks like next weekend is going to be really cold where the light colored areas within the blue are

My feeling is this is a colder year than some lately, so far as upstate goes.
