Willow creek?
« on: Dec 04, 2018, 12:47 AM »
Anyone know the ice reports from willow creek? Trying to fish this weekend but with the luck I had last time in north park I'd like to hit a different area. Coming from fort collins so anything closer would be killer as well!

Some ice, but it was mostly open one week ago, according to Bernie Keefe’s FB report.  He might have a new update soon.

I appreciate it. With as cold as it's going to be up there this week hopefully its fishable by Sunday. Had a blast up there last year. Nothing to terribly big but consistent fish and they sure are healthy up there

If you follow bernie on FB, he'll prob have another ice update sometime this week he does videos on those lakes up there weekly this time of year and with the cold willow may be ok, or maybe not.

I did some work up there about a month ago and shadow mtn was capped then, that lake has got to be getting close, I fished shadow once last year near the dam and marked tons of fish but only had 2 or 3 cone through the hole. Worst case scenario we'll try our luck in north park again. Not a trout fisherman by any means and not being able to use live bait has always hindered my success lol

Never fished Shadow through the ice, only the spillway. Never heard of anything much that would make me want to go there.

Best way to find out is to go your self. Bernie goes once a week if that. The ice is at 4 to 5 inches as of noon today when I was there fishing.

i fished willow creek today.  3-5 inches clear snowcovered ice.   caught lots of dinks the hour we were there, girlfriend outfished me and caught 3 more.   granby has big skim ice sheets floating round the lake.
