Has anyone been on Joe's Pond?  How's the ice?

People are fishing it. I have not checked the ice there in a few weeks, BUT it froze at the same basic time (within a day or 2) of marshfield, and that has 7 inches, and Joes always builds faster than Marsh Res. I would doubt its under 8 on the smelt grounds.

I checked it saturday right as temps dropped bellow freezing. Still plenty of ice in front of the launch. I went out to the smelt grounds and found 9-11 the whole way out, EXCEPT at shore. I had to walk through some slush, and then had the ice I stepped up on break 2 times before I got on solid ice to walk out. was only in 12-14 inches of water, but if you dont have tall boots it may be messy.  I would doubt that the shore has set back up yet, especially if anyone fished it yesterday.

Fished Joe's last night.  First 2-4 feet from shore was sketchy.  If you're not careful, you'll get wet feet.

Over 50 FOW there was about 6-7 inches of ice.
