Drifter/Dave may you have not done any thing serious to your back and be back to full speed after some rest. Thank you for the update. Some of the cold from your area has reached south eastern NY. you would consider it light coat or T-shirt weather highs in the low thirties (F) nights dropping down to teens.

Got out to the cabin for the first time since October today. :)
Spent my time packing trail. Man was that a chore. More snow than usual in the bush this year.
My heavy a$$ touring sled is not really meant for breaking trail in tight quarters especially when the snow is nuts deep!!!!!!
Took some time to get up my hill. About 1/2 way up I put the sled on it's side. No problem roll the 700# beast upright and keep going.
The last 30' or so is the steep section and there is a bend right at the bottom. Got stuck a few times and made it almost all the way up and got stuck again. Short break in the cabin to get my breath back before packing the top of the trail by foot. That was the ticket. Made 'er up.

Took about an hour to pack down the area around my cabin and then a trip down the hill to smooth it out.
Finally another hour of packing the trail from the shore to the ice road then call it a day.

Hopefully back at it next weekend.

Few rolls of the sled is the equivalent to a Chiropractor visit - ouch.  Hope you tested out okay.  As always, thanks for the updates.

Yeah, I'm good. :)
Not even as sore as I expected to be with it being my first time doing anything strenuous this winter.
Usually I'm in rough shape the first couple of outings. ;)

If it is nice next weekend maybe you can get them to bring a load out for you, but then you could never get rid of them.

The place is looking very nice...h2l

Only partial plumbing this year.
Need to run all the venting and my 2" supply lines for my roof sprinklers up the exterior walls.
So I can get the insulation done.
The rest of the plumbing will go through the floor.

what are roof sprinklers ?

Kind of reminds of the locals that would come out to see how high the snow banks were after we finally got plowed out after being snowed in for some times a week or more. We needed to get to town to resupply but had to be concerned with hitting them as the roads were only two tracks.

Pardon me if I answer this for you Dave! For fire suppression in case of a cabin fire. Worst case scenario!!  :o

what are roof sprinklers ?

Roof mounted sprinklers that can be let loose if there's a forest fire.
Keeps the cabin and the woods in a 100' radius soaked and safe from burning up.

Nice project.

That device next to your stairs in the last few pics looks like a guillotine!

Royalwapapiti what looks like a guillotine is the hoist Drifter-016 built to transport material when he was working on the cabin roof.

Drifter-016/Dave do you have quick and easy way to transfer items from your trailer to the sled attached to snowmobile . Curious how high of an R-rating is the insulation.

No quick and easy way just brute force!!!!
Hardest part is getting the 155# 3 bag bundles up the stairs at the cabin.
Have to roll them end over end up the stairs. Reminds me of the cross fit guys flipping those giant tires over.   :flex: :flex: :flex:
R22 for the walls
R32 for the vaulted ceiling
I have R40 in the floor
Flat part of the ceiling will get R60 cellulose blown in.
