No contest, get a Loring and never need another again. Waterproof a rugged. Lifetime warranty and anything you break because of neglect or stupidity they’ll fix real cheap.

You get what you pay for, I’d rather pay more one time and be done with it

I wanted one but they are sold out
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

I made one, lined it and used it for a year... Went back to my box. The basket fills up with snow and debris. then it all melts when you get home....You need to keep the liner top closed all the time. The box works better for me...

We will have to do a get together. You need to retire so that I have someone to fish with... 8 degrees in the Ice Box this morning.

Made a thread about this last year. Get a loring, it’s the only one you’ll ever need to buy. End of story

   I agree that Loring provides a lifetime basket.
But 50 years ago I bought two pack baskets from Minnesota.
Both made white ash strips with oak runners. Two coats of spar varnish every three years and they are as good as new.  They have been carried in boat , canoe and sled  and provide tall, light weight storage.
Just would never love a basket made of synthetics!

I bought a pack basket 35 years ago and it was an unknown brand. I stained it and put 3 coats of poly on it, still going strong after plenty of abuse. Waterproof/stain whatever you buy !

Remember what you paid for it?  Do you think it's made of ash strips.

Dick, I just looked at the basket and it is ash .I bought it at the old Laverdieres in Littleton for about $50 which in hindsight was a lot of money back then !
