Small terminal tackle storage
« on: Nov 20, 2021, 06:31 PM »
Any recommendations on some good waterproof boxes for jigs and maybe a couple small spoons?  For example I seen rapala has a couple small black utility boxes that look like they may work.

Not sure if they are waterproof, but the small Planos with the double hinged latches have always worked well for little pocket gear boxes for me. The ones with the integrated latches on the lid are crap, though.

I use a little zippered fly box.  Works great.  Seems to keep the water out too.

Reb, I have and like that one too. Holds plenty and the little compartment size is good for a few small spoons or terminal stuff.

Ya they are! I use a few for my summer different size/type of plain hooks, too...and the slip bobbers stop beads and ties go in the compartments.  ;)

I agree with the fly boxes. I refuse to buy Clam anymore, nothing made in USA and customer service is horrible. Quality has gone way down and prices are way to high!.

I have the Stone box and love it.  It's made very well double sided waterproof and compact, best box I have found for 15$.  Holds something like 125 jigs.

Lot’s of good options at Custom Jigs & Spins. I have several of the Rose Creek boxes and highly recommend them.

Custom jigs and spins rose creek boxes are nice because you can see in them without opening them.

I prefer it to be...at least somewhat moisture proof. Helps prevent rust. I try and check my stuff when I get home to see if anything got wet. If so, I let it dry out... until the next time it gets wet.

I got this one last year for terminal tackle, floats, and also some bigger or different shaped lures that don't fit in my Clam slim boxes. Jigging raps, rembrants, that kind of stuff. Seems like a good case, no complaints.

A wine cork. Not water proof but floats and dries out a lot faster than an sealed box and you can put way more than a days worth of jigs on one.

I picked up over 100 super small pill boxes could probably hold 20-30 small jigs and a couple small spoons AAA made them

Another good quality case I own is done by Big Sky Flies and Jigs: https://bigskyflies.ca/empty-jig-cases/

They make great jigs and I like their 5mm tungstens.

What ever happened to companies making 7mm tungsten jigs?

Like the clam thin boxes and use fly cases for terminal products.  Sportsman warehouse has a great product for fly box.   If Bass Pro buys them out it will soon be crap.
