My second smitty sled that I made with hinged skis.

First one is a jet sled, this one is a box with side table and mike crate on front for bait bucket or 5 gallon bucket with 9 beaver dam tip-up/rod holders on it.

thats awesome man. Do you have the pics of the Jet Sled one? i just picked up some hinges and going to start building mine

Can I ask what kind of hinges you have there?  Also how much height does that give you fully extended from the ski?

Whats the purpose for hinging. I see no benefit of it ??

no snow leave the hinges down, get a lot of snow and put it up and you are not dragging the sled through the  high snow....kinda like a smitty sled

Pulling by hand in snow skis up. Pulling with a machine skis down. I can see that being an option for flip overs too and being able to pull a bigger flip by hand in some snow verses always needing a machine. Anyone mount them on a larger flip? being able to drop it once in place is key for using the flip over
