My kid came home sick with it his 2nd or 3rd day of school, and then the wife got it, so I knew I was gonna get hit sooner or later. It's like a revolving door of plague the entire time he is in school every year.  >:(

Had to order a Taco Salad from a local family owned joint. No time to fix anything, I'm heading up to try to kill a buck, with the muzzleloader, early tomorrow morning. It'd be nice to put some meat in the freezer.

Edibility and culinary use

Giant puffballs have a mild nutty and earthy taste. And like most mushrooms, they soak up the flavor of any marinades or sauces really well. They can be cooked in many different ways and substituted into most recipes that call for mushrooms.

I just couldn't trust myself. With my luck, I'd get the Alice in Wonderland one and be seeing and chasing white rabbits while there was a dormouse whispering in my ear.

O yum! Can't ever go wrong with kielbasa anything.

I whipped up a batch of my pork fried rice, and paired it with one o' those bacon-wrapped pigger medallions from KT, along with some candied yams. Could hardly eat it all, still feelin' like crap.  >:(

Update...my wife made a pumpkin pie for dessert.

I tried some Philly style stuffed green pepper last night..meh i did like them better than the traditional meat and rice ones but the green peppers just produce too much moisture when baking.at least i got rid of a hoard of green peppers.i tasted my homemade sauerkraut today after fermenting 2 weeks..excellent.first time i have ever made it.

Philly style? What's that Doc?

I gotta make a run tomorrow for those .99 pigger medallions. Ran outta time today. Too much time spent at Menard's spending money on Fall essentials like weatherstripping, a winter shirt, door seal, paper towels and TP, (cheapest place in town) caulking, and two 1 lbs propane tanks....5.29 each. That's all I could afford. Friggin' $125.  >:(  Then I mowed, edged, and trimmed all around the chainlink in the entire back 40, and then washed off the rider. My back & legs were killing me after all that bouncing around on the rider. Barely made it into the house. Coulda used a cold longneck.Well, enough of THAT.
This is a food thread. I had a sandwich and a microwave Stouffer Ravioli bowl for supper.  ::)
