Had a lie-in this morning and didn't get up until half ten.

So it was "Brunch"

3 slices Wright Brand thick cut apple wood smoked bacon, two extra large eggs over medium, two buttermilk biscuits w/ sweet cream butter, Glass of V-8 to start and milk and coffee to warsh 'er down...

And I'll schedule the triple bypass later today...

Put some pike filets in da choka smoka

Bakers dozen buttermilk biscuits

Stir in heavy cream , parm. cheese rinds & smoked fish ==== CHOOOWWWDA !!!

Made a be- lated Valentine's dinner for the GF

Sauteed garlic & shallots in butter & EEOV

Add chicken stock, reduce by 1/2 , add peppers & shrooms , poach fish & boil pasta pre al - dente ( finish it in da sauce)

Add heavy cream to sauce , combine sauce, fish, parsley & capers. Top w/ grated romano cheese.
Pike peppers & portobellos in creamy garlic butter caper sauce over bucatelli

A plea of solidarity to my brothers & sisters in slush. If a new female member starts inquiring about Michigan law.
It is a felony to fish on Friday & not return on Monday to make sure that your spear hole re-froze regardless of any political, religious or romantic holiday.

made a pot of fish stew yesterday. boiled the carcasses for a nice fish stock base.

amazing how much collagen is in them things. you let it cool and it jells up like pork drippings. got to be good for the joints

Had a bear roast I needed to eat up...tossed it in the crackpot with shallots, a mix of beef bouillon, Worcestershire, and some saved beef stock. Covered with quartered buttered skin-on taters with fresh rosemary. Hot garlic knot rolls fresh outta da oven and made some gravy out of the juice/drippings. Looked so good, didn't bother to even make the squash I had planned on.... it was great. He musta eaten a lot of acorns and grasses; because it tasted almost like a beef roast with a slightly nutty flavor. Hope it wasn't Yogi. 🐻

Boned, trimmed, seasoned and tied 50 shoulders today to be cooked tomorrow for our clubs monthly Porchetta dinner. We’re expecting 260- 280 which is close to getting back to “normal”. Also making 55 gallons of “Marchegian” sauce, 120lb of ziti served with, salad, fresh Italian bread from the bakery across the street and of course vino. We’ll also sell about 100 qts of sauce to go.

Had a lotsa motsa pizza. AKA Losa slopsa. Didn't feel like cooking tonite. Gettin' tired of it. Real tired. Been feelin' like that a lot lately. Been 15 years since I had a drink; think I'm ready to go get some and find out if I'm still allergic to it. Actually, I feel like kicking somebody's ass tonite. Have that whiskey, and I WILL be doing that.....

i feel ya.since moving to the farm and doing a crap ton of repairs and clean out i find myself a couple beers in my belly after a long damn day.i was sober for 14 years and saw alot of things like both my parents die in front of me but i never went back to drinking but the stress of moving and change got me for some reason.i sorta been on a 3 to 6 beer binge since i moved here.i will not however do like i did for 25 years and start drinking a 5th of jim beam a day or go broke.i already know the road im on doesnt lead anywhere good.

Since I started my new job I don't feel like cooking big meals much anymore, tired at the end of the day and a few cold beers taste good, might have to coach the better half on some liver and onions tonight. Watched the St Paddy's day parade back home on my phone today and thought it'd be great to be there, but I know it'd cause nothing but trouble, so I'll just stick with a few beers after work.
