« on: Nov 06, 2021, 05:54 PM »
Snow in the fcast this coming week...but it's 65* and beautiful right now, sooooooo.....an applewood smoked slab pigger steak, sauce on the side, macaroni salad with red and green peppers, steakhouse beans with a bite (a bit of chipotle pepper added)  Black olives, green tops and radishes for the complements....too full for dessert!  :P   :pinch:

I made some beef stroganoff, cannon balls in butter sauce, (Br sprouts), and some fresh bakery rolls.

Home cured Canadian Bacon & Smoked Havarti on a French Baguette, grilled in an iron skillet & topped with spicy beer mustard.  (Can't git decent tomatoes this time of year, &#@!*&)  Cole slaw and chips on the side.  Glass a apple cider and a puff for desert...
Ice fishin' & turtlin's all I crave...

Made a big pot of from-scratch  chicken noodle soup, with wavy and regular egg noodles. Simmered while it rained and blew out this afternoon....then a plate of warm croissants and butter, slices of sharp cheddar and Muenster, and I'm good to go on this cold, raining like heck nite!

Just finished up with a ceremony at my local VFW honoring a 99 years "young" WWII veteran. Yeah...still sharp as a tack too.

Swiss steak
Mashed potatoes
Green bean
Dessert tray

Got inventive and threw together a "mexican style for lack of a better phrase" casserole...beef, onions, rice in a spicy thick sauce I made. Topped it with some broken leftover taco shells and then put some shredded cheddar on top. I had just started to eat it, and thought...why not roll it up in a flour tortilla with dollop of sour cream? Viola! The portable casserole! Walked into the living room while eating it!  :woot:   :roflmao:

Had a 3 lb tri-tip all rubbed and injected and ready to go onto the smoker/grill this am. But, 31* degrees out with screaming winds...NOT the day to try to maintain a low heat/smoke. So, it went into the crack pot a bit ago with some taters, onyums, mushrooms, rosemary and even threw some leftover gravy over the works. Gonna get paired up with some baked maple-buttered acorn squash and garlic/parmesan bread. 🧅🍄 :P
