Outer and inner Mallets
« on: Feb 19, 2021, 01:25 PM »
Thinking about taking the snowmobile out this weekend for easier mobility, just wanted to check that ice thickness is OK throughout both inner and outer Mallets if anyone knows.  Also, any spots to stay away from (e.g with springs, water outlets, etc) where there is commonly thin ice?  Thanks in advance!

Was on Outer Mallets Bay 2 days ago. Nearly 16". Good traveling, not a lot of snow on the ice. Pretty good pressure crack off Clay Point. It started to get slushy as we approached it so we did not cross. I saw where others had however.
Ice fishing is a social activity that may occasionally be interrupted by the catching of fish.

Was out by the Mill Point area on thursday.......shoreli ne was still good to get on/off. Ice was starting to chard on top 4-6”. A couple of sunny days and it will start to melt faster on bottom of ice.

Be safe.....bring a buddy, rope and flotation 😁
The closest flag up may be the one that is behind you !
