El Dorado Ice
« on: Jan 12, 2015, 07:46 PM »
Well, made a last minute trip to El Do yesterday.  Wanted to fish up in the Walnut up by the turnpike, but after checking that, many places looked questionable, so I decided to go try Satchel Creek.  Drilled a few holes and found it only to be 5ft.  Caught them shallow like this 5 years ago so figured we would give it a shot. I did miss one, but in 20 minutes and that was the only fish marked, decided it was time to move. Moved further west and found more standing timber along the creek channel and 7ft, figured much better.  Well, caught a small white perch and then a 10 inch crappie and that was it.  Had several lookers with a few light grabs, but couldn't manage to hook them.  Ice was around 5 inches, but will be trashed by this weekend.  Sure wish it would stay longer.  Good luck and be safe out there.

Yea looks like ice will be ruined weekend. I took the day off and got in a good eight hours of fishing lots of fish caught and a great day.
