Gross from shore?
« on: Feb 14, 2018, 10:45 AM »
I have seen youtube clips that folks caught lakers from shore before ice or after ice out. I have never had much luck with lakers from shore there. Was wondering if anybody here has any suggestions on parts of the lake that might be productive shore fishing for lakers? Of course no need to disclose exact locations.

I’ve always caught good number of lakers there in the fall best areas are the north side you have to hike in on that side also by osprey point and by the dam

Ived actually fished ice-out at Gross a couple times.  Fish right near the ice shelf and you should pound some lakers and bows.

Cat and Slayer, thanks for the feedback! I have always enjoyed the hike from the north side parking lot down to the lake. Will try that (and other areas you suggested) any of these weekends when the edges are ice out. I will be using a variety of spoons. Have never had luck with casting tubes and sucker from shore.
