Finally on the Ice!
« on: Dec 28, 2018, 04:21 PM »
Every year it seems my first outing is for Crappie. We used to have a great spot for them along the St.Lawrence River but word got out & the fish dried up due to pressure & in my opinion every fish caught being kept.
The new spot barely has any pressure think I’ve only seen maybe 6 people on it in 3yrs.
I try to keep the smaller ones & send the big mamas back down the hole as it’s a smaller lake. I kept one 14” fish hook was buried & released many other the same size or bigger. The action is unbelievable & constant usually last night was one of them nights. Interesting note is that Gulp maggots out performed real ones.
