Boat at Batterson
« on: Mar 05, 2019, 08:45 PM »
Checked out Batterson today, and there is a 17-19' boat abandoned at the boat launch. A farmington cop was checking it out when I got there, no motor and the seats are no good, but hull looks good and it has a mint galvanized trailer, but with flat wheels and no lights. Hull looks good, last registered in 2017. The officer from F-town and I chatted, looked like a great project boat for someone with the time, throw a 40hp of it and it would be a boat a fisherman would enjoy. It is a bit frozen into the snow, but it has been there for a few days. The cop said it was DEEP's problem, and they would rather see it gone than have to haul it away. Just a heads up.

And sorry, I'd rather give the heads up to some young guns on this site.

Lol. I remember when I would have jumped on that!  Definitely in my younger years when I had more ambition and time.

When I posted the original post, the ice where I saw was 7-8", can't vouch for the entire lake, may head there tomorrow, I'm just wondering if it is even worth fishing in the daylight, looks like a dink perch lake. Prolly headed to highland or bantam tomorrow, anyone headed to batterson tomorrow, let me know if it is worth saving gas to jig keepers.
