Fished south bay. Slow. Few pike iced, cpl slime darts and a bunch of YP's jigged. Surprisingly, not windy. Met fellow shanty members rslabinski and BWB-ice. Good day to play hooky

Fished south cove on Saturday. All in all was a nice day to be on ice. Much slower than previous Saturday, but still decent. We caught 3 pike and missed 4 flags. Pike were short under 30 inches. Many folks on ice.

Cheers,

We were out too on South. Iced 2 Pike. My gf landed her first fish through the ice. Nice little perch. I missed a whole lot of perch on top ups. Even with tiny shiners and hooks they still weren't getting hooked. But all in all a pretty slow day
The BIG one is just one flag away!

Species caught : largemouth, smallmouth,  bluegill, perch, White perch, crappie, trout, catfish, bowfin, pickerel, pike

Ravo - We were the guys talking to your buddy.  Next time we gotta set up together.

Hey Mattshoes!
Pleasure meeting you and Rob as well. Slow day on the ice but still better than working...as always.
Sounds like Saturday was busy there. Hope we survive the weather and can all meet up again.

Just got back from Bantam.  Fished North Cove.  Slooooow.  One flag one pike about 25 inches long.  Edges were showing water in certain spots but ice was decent were we drilled.  Lots of ice noises some of them scary.  Few parties out in a distance.  Not as many as prior weekend.  It was windy, very windy and cold.  Perhaps tomorrow is a better day.  As always be safe on ice.  Spud your way and use common sense before venturing out on ice.

Cheers,

Fished the South Bay yesterday. Moved around a bit and measured a fairly consistent 5-6” good ice under 1-2” snow/crust. Slow bite, only a few flags and a couple fat yellows jigging.

Anyone fish Bantam today or yesterday with a recent report on ice conditions? Thinking about making the ride tomorrow.

I was out Saturday Sunday and Monday. Ice was a solid 6 inches. No issues getting on or off at Morris town beach.

Hit up Bantam yesterday. Found 7+ inches.
Literally watched the guys next to me chase flags and catch fish for four straight hours without getting one flag myself.
Finally got a flag and this guy!

Half hour later I was getting ready to leave when I get one more flag and this fatty comes up!

Chubby largemouth with a golden/bronze color to it...strange!
Schug, that must have been you on the other side of the trio of gents who were catching all the fish.
Oh well,
Not a great day but still better than working.

That vertical hold on the pike is not good for the fish. Can damage it's spine and internal organs.  :o

And ripping from their mouth out of a frozen hole in the freezing temps does nothing?  Please dude that photo was the instant I took the fish out of the hole. Maybe out for 20s if that. Trust that SOB swam back with ease. I care about the fish.
