I need to get up to Newfound this year. You guys sound like you have a blast. Awesome detailed reports on this thread as well. My buddy told me its a great fishing lake. I'm new to NH as of 2017 but not new to Ice fishing. Born and raised a masshole but in the western part of the state. I'm used to targeting pike, warm water species, and stocked trout on smaller lakes. I've always wanted to try jigging lakers out of a big lake. I'm getting deployed in January but will be back early March. How long does Newfound keep it's ice? I know it varies year to year but just in general.
Had diner in the bobhouse tonight, Ribeye with Sautéed Onions and a bit too much garlic. Got that bobhouse cooking smell going on. Tippin had dinner in his house, I believe Ribeye with Shrimp on the griddle. Nice night, cold 3F but no windy.Getting ready for the 1st.....
What’s the ice thickness off Cummings Jiggin?
Where my house is around 6-8"'ish
Just ordered a Marcum VS486c for this year. Can't wait to try using a camera out there

First off, Thank you for serving. To answer your question, you can usually fish until mid March, and on a really cold winter right up until April. Check out the thread when you get back and post if you want to get out on the ice.Be safe.
