Helix 5 G1 or Hook 7 TS

I have a helix 5 G1 sonar gps on the bow of my boat and a lowrance hook2 gps 7" triple shot at the console. I am going to convert one to ice on a Genz box this year. I was going to use the lowrance for the bigger screen but thought I would see if anyone has experience with both that could help? If the helix was a G2 I'd probably use that..

if the lawrance has 2d chirp use that...it'll be better than the g1 helix. The g1 helix with have interference when used around other units. A g2 would be way better than both options - I just sold my g1 and got a g2 for this season

It does have chirp. That was my understanding on the G1 helix units which is why I was going the other way. I'd love to upgrade but I don't think I will spend the cash this year.
