Perch,now?
« on: Mar 24, 2008, 11:46 PM »
well the ice has cleared ive been out on the lake already and found the perch(one day) in about 12 ft of water with sliders. you could see the school chasing the bait and if you held it up in the water you could see the fish trying to fit it in there mouth. the biggest perch caught wasnt over 8 inches.

are the bigger fish out deeper or shallower? today i fished the same spot and only caught 3-4 fish i tried another known rocky/weedy area with no luck? any tips on where to find some jumbos ?
Paisley go put this jack in my creel and grab me another fat head. wait heres another !

They should be moving into shallower water for the spawn. But look for them in slighty deeper water where you've been fishing off weedy/rocky points. The females I've caught recently through the ice have been in less than 10 fow and right full of eggs.

Try minnows under floats and/or jigs tipped with waxies

Good luck
