Title: My Latest Facebook Marketplace Score
Post by: SmilingBob on Feb 06, 2021, 01:42 PM
Scored a Strikemaster Swedish made 6 inch mora KJ ERIKSSON hand auger with 3 extra pairs of Swedish made blades for $25. It's an older model that the top section screws on to auger section and is not adjustable for length. Also picked up a Shakespeare Ugly Stik GX2 30 inch ice fishing rod and reel combo for $10. I had purchased the same rod only from Scheels for $19. The seller lived just 10 miles from me. I am a happy camper for sure n for certain.

Looks like those blades need a good sharpening. Pretty rough looking. But those are the easiest blades to hand sharpen.

Seeing quite a few "reasonably" priced used augers for sale here in SE PA. I also picked up a "screw handle" model Mora for $20 in the Fall.

If you want to brink it up to date to be like the new ones you can.

Simply by a clam auger extension, and cut off the extension part right above where it is welded on. Then take and cut the screw top off of the old auger, and insert the top part you cut off from the clam extension. Then weld it on. Take the old handle and drill yourself the three adjustable screw holes in it. Handle will then insert in just like the new augers and be adjustable allowing you to use any of the new stuff like the drill plates & adaptors. I did it to an old 10in folding mora handle and couldn’t be happier.
