Polar Bird website hacked?
« on: Apr 11, 2016, 08:47 AM »
Click on the link at the top right of the page, then right click the message, then click translate to English.  Looks like their site's been hacked/hijacked.  Is this a cause for alarm for the people who purchased with credit/debit cards?

looks that way to me!

glad i used a non protected debit card in a secondary account for on-line purchases for days like these. our account has been breached before, so this is how to avoid hackers from gaining access to your savings and primary accounts.
the feds will reimburse your money, but is a hassle none the less.

I snagged a 3T right at the end of the season for a spare hut for company and for when I need to fish by myself. Couldn't pass on the price.  Going to watch my account like a hawk or close it and open another.  Grrr.

just call your bank and kill your card(s) and have new ones issued.
paypal is the best way to buy online. if you have problems with the seller paypal backs you for either 45 or 90 days. you simply start a "dispute" and the seller makes right asap!

the feds here go after web hackers big time!

so how did you like the shanty?

I just spoke to Nikolay Krupelnitskiy (Polarbird President).  He said the site was fine yesterday and was not aware of the hack.  He was going to check it out with his web developer asap.

Regarding the PB shelter...like many others said, the window(s) size and placement is poor, but everything else about it is top notch.  Very high quality materials and workmanship.  What I received for what I paid made it an outstanding value.  It is a heavy-duty, very well made pop-up.  Honestly, I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.

mark,
must have had a good deal on them i missed out on at end of year sales.
if you payed with paypal, they never recorded your credit card at polarbirds side because they don't see it.

polarbird,
i couldn't imagine not having the web page backed up anyway. just have to secure it better from them it seems.
don't pay the hackers any thing! spend it on better security instead. probably change the host server to a better one.

Yup, just a blank page.  After what happened yesterday, I doubt another hack will go unnoticed for long.  Maybe it's down on purpose too.  Who knows?
