That's it perchmasterson, I'm moving to Idaho!  Those are some pigs!  Got room for one more on your lake??  We get jumbos like that out on Lake Michigan, but the limit is only 5/day.

this is the limit of what i want to clean at one time anymore
32 in this bucket
sometimes only 25 fit

Those are absolute trucks! What factors do you think contribute to such hump-backed perch in Idaho??

Post it up on here, don't worry about jacking my thread. I think most of the people viewing this would be interested in some lesser known facts about the perch in another part of the country. I know I am! ;D

Some interesting info from PerchMasterson on his waters:

"The lake i live next to was the top fish producing and fished lake for over 35 years until oxygen problem in 92 and 95 wiped the perch and alot of others out and predators wouldn't let them rebound. since then deq cleaned the water up and fish and game restocked perch in 04-06? and killed most squaw fish and suckers. i think the new perch are a different strain with the humps as the old perch were 9-11 mostly and you could catch 3 at a time w/bare hook. these big fish i show are all the transplants that are still growing into their new envirionment. our lake is 19x2 1/2 miles and not real deep  at 5000 ft and very furtile. the weight of the fish is dropping lately(last 3 yrs) even thou they are getting longer. don't know how it will work out but i'm loving it now. i have had buddies tell me they have made 16"ers this year.  Lake X in nevada does as well and that lake is also a newly introduced perch lake. 96 or 97

Short answer; different strain of perch introduced here and they like it..."

Interesting read about the introduced strain... I suspect the lower weights recently and greater lengths could be that the strain is adapting to the water conditions present, possibly becoming something closer to a more common perch type?
